Basketball Recap: Miranda Nevarez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hanford

There's no place like home for Tulare Western, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Hanford Bullpups by a score of 47-38 on Tuesday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 431st, while the Bullpups are ranked 869th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tulare Western's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Miranda Nevarez, who posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave Nevarez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Regina Toscano, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards.

Tulare Western's victory bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Hanford, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Tulare Western will square off against Lemoore at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tulare Western is facing Lemoore at the right time seeing as Lemoore is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
