Basketball Recap: Citrus Hill Comes Up Short

Citrus Hill played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Liberty Bison 58-29. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Bison: they've now lost five in a row.

Leading Liberty to victory were Aubrianna Anderson and Kahili Paulino. Anderson dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds, while Paulino shot 50% from the field en route to 14 points along with five boards and four steals. Anderson has become a key player for the Bison: the team is undefeated when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mireya De La Riva, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 10 points.

Citrus Hill's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Liberty, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-5.

Citrus Hill has already played their next game (against Jurupa Hills), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Liberty, they will be taking part in a tournament against Mira Mesa at 3:00 p.m. on the 27th.
