Basketball Recap: Wilkes Central Falls Despite Big Games from Jordan Parks and Ayden Barrett + How To Watch

Wilkes Central made up a huge gap compared to their last game against West Iredell, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 57-55 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since January 17th.

Despite the defeat, Wilkes Central had strong showings from Ayden Barrett, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Jordan Parks, who went 7-for-14 en route to 20 points.

West Iredell was led to victory by Austin Bailey and Ja'Braylan Patterson. Bailey shot 50% from the field on his way to 18 points and five boards, while Patterson almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Bailey has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Gabe Harshman, who scored seven points and 12 rebounds.

Wilkes Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for West Iredell, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Wilkes Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-50 defeat against Bandys on the 24th. As for West Iredell, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Stephens at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
