Softball Recap: Dunwoody's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Dunwoody extended their winning streak to six on Thursday, bumping them up to 18-4. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Shiloh Generals. Considering the Wildcats have won 15 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Anslie Worley made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaz McLoughlin, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Lauren Dowhower was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Dunwoody hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 16 consecutive contests.

As for Shiloh, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Shiloh's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaya Erby, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Coming up, Dunwoody will be playing at home against Peachtree Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Shiloh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
