Basketball Game Preview: Leigh Longhorns vs. Santa Teresa Saints

The Leigh Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Teresa Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Leigh is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Prospect just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to the Panthers on the road by a 57-38 margin. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 746th, while the Panthers are ranked 184th).

Meanwhile, Santa Teresa ended up a good deal behind Willow Glen on Saturday and lost 61-43. The Saints have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Leigh will need focus on slowing down Kaden Reynolds, one of several Santa Teresa players who made an impact when they last played. She posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Lacy, who scored 11 points.

Santa Teresa's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Leigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Leigh came up short against Santa Teresa in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 45-38. Can Leigh avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
