Baseball Recap: Rockford Comes Up Short

The Rockford Rockets came up short against the Cannon Falls Bombers on Monday and fell 8-3. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rockford got a good showing from Charley Smith, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Smith a new career-low.

At the plate, Rockford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Schuster, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Rockford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Cannon Falls, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

As of now, neither Rockford nor the Bombers have any future games scheduled.
