Basketball Recap: Glynn Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday + How To Watch

Glynn Academy's game on Tuesday was all tied up 32-32 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 64-54 win over the Effingham County Rebels. For the Terrors, this counts as revenge for the 51-46 victory the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Travis Young went supernova, shooting 50% from the field on his way to 19 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Trevion Bryant, who went 5-for-11 en route to 15 points and six assists.

Glynn Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Effingham County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Scruggs, who posted 14 points and five boards. Ernest Bartley was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Glynn Academy moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Effingham County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Glynn Academy will head out to challenge Ware County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Effingham County, they will venture away from home to take on South Effingham at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
