Baseball Game Preview: Chattahoochee Cougars vs. Gainesville Red Elephants

The Chattahoochee Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Gainesville Red Elephants at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Chattahoochee has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Gainesville will come in with three straight wins.

On Friday, Chattahoochee came up short against Johns Creek and fell 5-2.

Meanwhile, Gainesville made easy work of Seckinger on Friday and carried off an 8-1 victory.

Daniel Rico spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Cohen Miller was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. CJ Saudarg was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Gainesville's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chattahoochee, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
