Baseball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian easily dispatched St. Louis on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Mustangs fell just short of the Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on May 2nd.

Meridian has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-16-1 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Unionville-Sebewaing, their win bumped their record up to 16-14.

While Meridian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
