Softball Recap: Weld Central Takes a Loss

Weld Central lost against La Junta back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rebels lost 10-4 to the Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Rebels have lost by exactly six runs.

Rylee Blair was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Payton Collins-Gottschalk also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Weld Central and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for La Junta, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Weld Central will venture away from home to challenge Rocky Ford at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for La Junta, they will take on Peak to Peak at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
