Football Recap: Adrian Colon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Union Pines over Pinecrest

If Union Pines was feeling good fresh off their 28-6 takedown of Westover last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings took a 21-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pinecrest Patriots on Friday. The Vikings have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adrian Colon, who rushed for 111 yards.

Chris Najm went supernova For Pinecrest., rushing for 79 yards and a pair of TDs.

Union Pines' record is now 1-1. As for Pinecrest, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Union Pines will host Eastern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinecrest, they will head out on the road to take on Davie County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
