Football Game Preview: McKinley Tech Trainers vs. Bell Griffins

McKinley Tech is 1-9 against Bell since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Trainers will face off against the Griffins at 6:00 p.m. McKinley Tech has given up an average of 25.8 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

McKinley Tech is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Ron Brown, who was ranked 22nd at the time (McKinley Tech was ranked 16th). The Trainers took a 32-14 bruising from the Monarchs on Monday.

Meanwhile, Bell entered their tilt with Cardozo on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They claimed a resounding 54-0 victory over the Clerks. The Griffins' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three games.

McKinley Tech better keep an eye on Antonio Washington. He was instrumental in Bell's win, rushing for 59 yards and two TDs, while also catching one touchdown. Washington is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Bell's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for McKinley Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

McKinley Tech was dealt a bruising 42-0 loss at the hands of Bell in their previous matchup back in October. Can the Trainers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
