Football Recap: Johnson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Johnson faced off against Stony Point on Thursday. The Jaguars fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 17-14. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Although Johnson took the loss, they still got scores from Jett Hickson and Jonathan Beck.

Even if they lost, Johnson's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Seamus Gosey, Peyton Wolfe, and Clayton Vinson, who each picked up one sack apiece. Johnson received some extra help from Hickson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Aiden Loyden was a one-man wrecking crew For Stony Point. as he rushed for 106 yards and one score on only 15 carries.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Stony Point, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson will challenge Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stony Point, they will face off against Vandegrift at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. The match will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
