Soccer Recap: Monte Vista Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Helix, Monte Vista was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mount Miguel Matadors a 3-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in January.

Marely Velazquez and Nyla Jack scored all three of Monte Vista's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

The victory got Monte Vista back to even at 6-6-2. As for Mount Miguel, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monte Vista will take on Chula Vista Learning Community Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mount Miguel, they will challenge Helix at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th.
