Baseball Recap: Canby Beats Russell-Tyler-Ruthton for Their Third Straight Victory

Canby had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights by a score of 7-3. For the Lancers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Morgen Tol spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cody Stoll, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Abrahamson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Canby's record is now 8-6. As for Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5-1.

Canby has already played their next game, an 11-0 win against MACCRAY on the 23rd. Russell-Tyler-Ruthton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
