Baseball Recap: Morrow Beats Banneker for Their Third Straight Win

Morrow waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Banneker Trojans as they made off with an 18-5 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 last Wednesday.

Bryce Glass was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Glass was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Morrow is undefeated when Glass posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Freddie Woods was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Malachi Mingo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Morrow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .522 or higher in four consecutive contests.

The victory got Morrow back to even at 9-9. As for Banneker, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
