Derry scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the Highlands Golden Rams 50-46. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Golden Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Tyarah Woody continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Highlands, dropping a double-double on 35 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Woody has scored at least a third of Highlands' points. Another player making a difference was Lanyah Suber, who posted three points and six boards.

Derry's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Highlands, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-8.

Derry will be playing in front of their home fans against Oakland Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. As for Highlands, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-42 loss against North Catholic on the 6th.
