Baseball Recap: Lunenburg Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Lunenburg's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tyngsborough Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Knights considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Brett Richard made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Cayden Chow was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Gabe Wright, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Lunenburg's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Tyngsborough, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
