Baseball Recap: Spalding Comes Up Short

Spalding extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping them down to 6-20. They came up short against the Trinity Christian Lions, falling 19-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

As for Trinity Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-10-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Trinity Christian's part, Brady Rainwater was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave Rainwater a new career-high. Jake Anderson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Spalding has already played their next matchup, a 17-4 defeat against Centennial on the 14th. As for Trinity Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-2 win against LaGrange on the 14th.
