Basketball Recap: Kailah Holley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Serrano

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Knight's strategy against Serrano on Thursday. The Knight Hawks rang in the new year with a 45-34 victory over the Serrano Diamondbacks. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 48-26 win the Diamondbacks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2016.

Knight's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kailah Holley led the charge by going 6 of 12 on her way to 18 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Beautiful Mcbride, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Knight's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Serrano, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knight will host La Habra at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Serrano, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hesperia at 6:00 p.m.
