Soccer Game Preview: Vista Murrieta vs. Murrieta Mesa

The Vista Murrieta Broncos will head out on the road to square off against the Murrieta Mesa Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Murrieta Mesa took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Vista Murrieta, who comes in off a win.

Vista Murrieta got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Murrieta Valley 2-1.

Kieana Smith and Destiny Cabrera scored both of Vista Murrieta's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Murrieta Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Temecula Valley, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 823rd, while the Golden Bears are ranked 81st).

Murrieta Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Vista Murrieta, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-1.
