Basketball Recap: Livermore's Win Ends 11-Game Losing Streak on the Road

If Galt wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Livermore, they should've done a better job of containing Sofia Mahmood. The Livermore Cowboys rang in the new year with a 38-27 win over the Galt Warriors on Thursday thanks in part to Mahmood, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Livermore's victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-8. As for Galt, their loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

Livermore and West will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Galt, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Oakmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakmont will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Galt surely won't give up without a fight.
