It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Gilmer ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Northwest Whitfield Bruins 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Mia Henson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Dale, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Gilmer's victory bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Northwest Whitfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
