Softball Recap: Pueblo Centennial Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Pueblo Centennial had won four straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped up to 5-3 to make it five. They came out on top against the Lewis-Palmer Rangers by a score of 15-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-run performance the game before.

Olivia Aragon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Aragon was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, Remi Baca was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe James, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Pueblo Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive matches.

As for Lewis-Palmer, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (ten), they still had to take the loss.

On Lewis-Palmer's side, Sydney Blazer was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Jaelynn Bello was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pueblo Centennial will challenge Fountain-Fort Carson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will square off against Cheyenne Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
