Baseball Game Preview: Coosa Eagles vs. Fannin County Rebels

The Coosa Eagles will head out to square off against the Fannin County Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Coosa earned a 9-6 victory over Gordon Central.

Ian Hulsey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Coosa got a massive performance out of JJ Warren, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Warren has become a key player for Coosa: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Charlie Cannon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Fannin County got themselves on the board against Armuchee on Friday, but Armuchee never followed suit. They blew past the Indians 10-0. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Fannin County now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Coosa, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.

Everything went Coosa's way against Fannin County in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, as Coosa made off with a 13-3 victory. Will Coosa repeat their success, or does Fannin County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
