Soccer Game Preview: Hoffman Estates vs. Conant

The Hoffman Estates Hawks will square off against the Conant Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hoffman Estates managed to keep up with Fremd until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Hawks came up short against the Vikings, falling 6-2. Hoffman Estates have struggled against Fremd recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Conant managed to keep up with Barrington until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cougars lost 4-1 to the Fillies/Broncos. While losing is never fun, Conant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Barrington are ranked 33rd).

Hoffman Estates' defeat dropped their record down to 9-8-3. As for Conant, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8-5.

Hoffman Estates suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Conant in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
