El Cerrito is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Oakland Tech just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. Neither they nor the Bulldogs could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result kept the Gauchos happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 10, 2024.

Emily Murff and Natasha Rudd scored both of El Cerrito's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, De Anza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Pinole Valley.

El Cerrito's draw makes their record 6-2-2 this season. As for De Anza, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything went El Cerrito's way against De Anza in their previous meeting on Monday, as El Cerrito made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for El Cerrito since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
