Basketball Game Preview: Santa Rosa Panthers vs. Healdsburg Greyhounds

Santa Rosa hasn't had much luck against Healdsburg recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Santa Rosa Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Healdsburg Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Santa Rosa was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 35-30 to St. Vincent de Paul.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Healdsburg against Piner on Friday as the team secured a 56-21 victory. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Prospectors are ranked 894th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Healdsburg pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Santa Rosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Santa Rosa came up short against Healdsburg in their previous matchup back in January, falling 46-34. Can Santa Rosa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
