Football Recap: Caleb Peterson and Jordan Williams Pace Flowers Defense + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flowers). They put the hurt on the DuVal Tigers with a sharp 35-13 victory on Saturday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Kodi Gardner had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 170 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Flowers proved: they limited DuVal to a paltry -0.9 yards per carry. While four picked up at least three total tackles, Caleb Peterson stood above the rest. He picked up three sacks and made three total tackles. The dominant display was nothing new: Flowers has now limited their opponent to fewer and fewer yards per carry in three consecutive contests.

Flowers' defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Peterson and Jordan Williams, who racked up five sacks between them. Williams also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

Flowers' victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for DuVal, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Flowers didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-0 win against Parkdale on the 4th. As for DuVal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 35-0 defeat against Wise on the 3rd.
