Soccer Game Preview: Balboa vs. Washington

The Balboa Buccaneers will square off against the Washington Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Monday, Balboa came up short against Lowell and fell 3-1. The Buccaneers have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Balboa's goal came courtesy of Naomi Porter, who's now up to 12 this season.

Meanwhile, Washington's season-opener back in December of 2024 wasn't quite what the team was looking for considering the end result. They and Skyline finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw.

Balboa's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. Washington's draw gives them a new season record of 0-0-1.

Balboa suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Washington in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Can Balboa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
