After flying high against Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy last Friday, Mountain Island Charter came back down to earth. The Raptors and the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Raptors suffered a 15-14 loss. The Raptors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Mountain Island Charter still got an impressive performance from Aamir Gilcreast, who rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Stanly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaleb Richardson, who threw for 212 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 37 yards. Jayden Woods was Richardson's top target, picking up 88 receiving yards and one score.

Mountain Island Charter's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for South Stanly, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mountain Island Charter will take on rival North Rowan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, South Stanly is set to challenge their familiar foe Albemarle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
