Baseball Recap: Douglas County Comes Up Short

Douglas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 17-7 to the Mt. Zion Eagles. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Christopher Chapman was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jaden Strong was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Douglas County's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Mt. Zion, their win bumped their record up to 5-8-1.

Douglas County has already played their next match, a 0-0 draw against Alexander on the 13th. As for Mt. Zion, they will host Bowdon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
