Softball Recap: Northridge Grizzlies vs. Berthoud Spartans

Northridge had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 9-8 to make it four. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berthoud Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 two weeks ago.

Bo Tellez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ayla Ensinia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

As for Berthoud, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games.

On Berthoud's side, Madelyn Kuntz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Kuntz has posted since September 2nd. Alana Lukensow was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Northridge will face off against rival Greeley Central at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Berthoud is set to take on their familiar foe Thompson Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
