Baseball Recap: Riverside-Brookfield Find Success

While Riverside-Brookfield's win against Fenwick wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Friars on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Riverside-Brookfield has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Fenwick, they now have a losing record of 7-8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside-Brookfield will host West Aurora at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blackhawks will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fenwick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against DePaul College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
