Basketball Game Preview: Loara Saxons vs. Magnolia Sentinels

Loara and Magnolia are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Loara Saxons will be playing at home against the Magnolia Sentinels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Loara was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-43 to Savanna. The Saxons have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Magnolia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of Estancia.

Despite the loss, Magnolia saw an underclassman step up: freshman Amariis Keoma-Heng posted 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Keoma-Heng. Jayla Mosby was another key player, putting up nine points.

Magnolia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Loara, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

Loara was able to grind out a solid win over Magnolia in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 56-48. Does Loara have another victory up their sleeve, or will Magnolia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
