Basketball Recap: San Ramon Valley Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

San Ramon Valley had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They came out on top against the St. Mary's Rams by a score of 52-39. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 67-61 defeat the last time these two teams met.

St. Mary's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evelini Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Smith is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Jamias, who posted 11 points.

San Ramon Valley pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points over those games. As for St. Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.
