Softball Game Preview: West Branch Bears vs. West Liberty Comets

West Branch hasn't had much luck against West Liberty recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bears will square off against the Comets at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, West Branch came up short against Regina and fell 7-2. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, West Liberty didn't have quite enough to beat Fairfield on Saturday and fell 6-5.

West Branch's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for West Liberty, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

West Branch couldn't quite get it done against West Liberty in their previous meeting back in June of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
