Softball Recap: Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs vs. Palisade Bulldogs

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Saturday. Pueblo Centennial took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palisade. Pueblo Centennial has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ellie Zinanti put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up six earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Zinanti was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Marissa Fisher made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Aragon, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Pueblo Centennial now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Palisade, they moved to 14-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Pueblo Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palisade, they will be taking part in a tournament against Widefield at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Gladiators' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
