After having lost a blowout in their previous game against State College, Altoona was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They slipped by the Cumberland Valley Eagles 17-16. For the Mountain Lions, this counts as revenge for the 13-0 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

The critical scores for Altoona came from Myzick Clemons and Parker White.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Altoona's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Ezra Witherspoon was the leader with two. Altoona got some further help from Logan Wukovich: he picked up a sack and made 18 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Cumberland Valley still got an impressive performance from Kameron Wolfe, who threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 75 yards.

Altoona's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Cumberland Valley, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Altoona wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 38-21 defeat against Central Dauphin on the 12th. As for Cumberland Valley, they have also already played their next match, a 24-14 loss against State College on the 12th.
