Recap: Livermore Cowboys vs. Arroyo Dons

The Livermore Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arroyo. Livermore was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Arroyo apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.

When it comes to explaining why Livermore lost, one person who can't be blamed is Angie Bhatia. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points. That was a full 37.1% of Livermore's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Livermore has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season. As for Arroyo, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Livermore won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Monte Vista at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Monte Vista presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Livermore in California (Monte Vista is ranked 145th, while Livermore is ranked 1056th). As for Arroyo, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Berkeley at 6:30 p.m. Berkeley is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
