Basketball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison lost against Patrick Henry back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Madison Warhawks were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 28-27 to the Patrick Henry Patriots. The Warhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Jaeden Carter, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 rebounds. Carter is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Murrell, who posted six points.

Patrick Henry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kimora Nears led the charge by putting up seven points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Honey Smith, who put up three points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Madison now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Patrick Henry, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Madison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 33-23 victory against Valhalla on the 1st. Patrick Henry has also already played their next game, a 63-26 loss against Christian on the 4th.
