Soccer Recap: Somerton Comes Up Short

If Somerton was riding high fresh off their 8-0 takedown of River Valley on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Toros lost 5-0 to the San Luis Sidewinders on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Somerton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 110th, while San Luis are ranked tenth).

Somerton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-1 record this season. As for San Luis, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-1-1.

Coincidentally, Somerton and San Luis will both be playing Kofa the next time they take the pitch. The Sidewinders will host the Kings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Toros will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
