Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Coalinga

It's playoff time, and Coalinga had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past the Reedley Pirates with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-41. The victory was familiar territory for the Horned Toads, who have now won three matches in a row.

Coalinga found their leader in sophomore Alikah Rafiu, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 21 points and three steals. Rafiu also set a new season-high mark in three-point shooting accuracy with 83%. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Bourdeau, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards.

Coalinga's win bumped their record up to 24-5. As for Reedley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season.

Looking ahead, Coalinga will venture away from home to take on Santa Ynez at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Reedley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
