Soccer Game Preview: Mead vs. Skyline

The Mead Mavericks will venture away from home to challenge the Skyline Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mead's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mead is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Monarch on Friday. The Mavericks fell 2-0 to the Coyotes.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Skyline after they claimed the first goal on Thursday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Frederick by a score of 2-1. The result was nothing new for Skyline as the team haven't won a game since September 4th.

Their goal came courtesy of Eric Garcia, which was the first he's scored this season.

Mead's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-1. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Mead came out on top in a nail-biter against Skyline in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
