Baseball Recap: Southeast Whitfield County Takes a Loss

Southeast Whitfield County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 17-2 to the Cass Colonels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colonels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 last Wednesday.

Southeast Whitfield County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Lay, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Lay has posted since back in February.

Southeast Whitfield County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Cass, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cass beat Southeast Whitfield County by a score of 14-4 later that day.
