Baseball Recap: East Ascension Drops Season-High Score on St. Martin's Episcopal

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Ascension). They were the clear victor by a 16-3 margin over the St. Martin's Episcopal Saints on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

East Ascension got a massive performance out of Caden Gautreaux, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Gautreaux a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Reed Truax, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

East Ascension was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

East Ascension's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for St. Martin's Episcopal, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Ascension will head out to square off against St. Michael at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Martin's Episcopal, they will square off against East St. John at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
