Basketball Game Preview: Academy at Palumbo Griffin vs. Imhotep Charter Panthers

Academy at Palumbo hasn't had much luck against Imhotep Charter recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 3:15 p.m. After both made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.

Imhotep Charter is hoping to do what Paul Robeson couldn't on Friday: put an end to Academy at Palumbo's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Academy at Palumbo claimed a resounding 48-16 win over Paul Robeson.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Imhotep Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Sunday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Central 52-16.

Imhotep Charter pushed their record up to 2-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.5 points. As for Academy at Palumbo, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Academy at Palumbo suffered a grim 50-25 defeat to Imhotep Charter in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Can Academy at Palumbo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
