Football Game Preview: Moundridge Wildcats vs. Sedgwick Cardinals

The Moundridge Wildcats will head out to square off against the Sedgwick Cardinals on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Moundridge has four straight victories, Sedgwick has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Moundridge strolled past Marion with points to spare, taking the game 28-12.

Paul Grill went supernova, rushing for 210 yards and one score on only 12 carries. Those 210 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Sedgwick and Inman, and Inman kept the tradition alive. The Cardinals had to suffer through a 61-24 loss at the hands of the Inman Teutons.

Moundridge's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Sedgwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Moundridge won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in October of 2024, slipping by Sedgwick 41-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
