Baseball Recap: Stockbridge Comes Up Short

Stockbridge lost against Locust Grove last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 16-6. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jeremiah McGeachy was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Stockbridge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-2 (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Casey McBride was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Stockbridge now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Locust Grove, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-9.

Stockbridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Locust Grove, they will face off against Putnam County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Wildcats' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the War Eagles have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
