Softball Recap: Athens Christian Extends Winning Streak to Three

Athens Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Tallulah Falls on Tuesday. The Eagles never let the Indians get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by eight runs or more this season.

Ellianna Christian made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Athens Christian got a massive performance out of Harper Westbrook, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Westbrook has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addisyn Wilcox, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The win (which was Athens Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 6-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Tallulah Falls, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Coming up, Athens Christian will welcome Loganville Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tallulah Falls, they will head out on the road to square off against Towns County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
